About Machi Sushi
About Sushi
Sushi is any dish that consists of vinegared rice (we call it “Sushi Rice“) combined with other ingredients such as seafood and vegetables. Some people think sushi means raw fish, but that’s not entirely true. There are various types of sushi rolls. When the sushi rice is wrapped in nori seaweed and rolled, it is a Sushi Roll. In Japan, we call it Makizushi or Maki Sushi (巻き寿司). Our chef created our featured rolls combined with our love of Umami and Japanese culture, that our customers could taste them in Victoria.
About Sashimi
Sashimi (刺身) is thinly sliced, raw food. It is one of the most famous dishes in the Japanese cuisine. Seafood is most commonly eaten as sashimi, but other types of meats (such as beef) can also be served as sashimi. Our sashimi is daily prepared to make sure the freshness.
About Donburi
Not everyone is a fan of cold food. Donburi (丼, also romanized as Domburi) is a general term for “bowl”. However, it also popularly refers to a bowl of cooked rice with some other food served on top of it. There exist a variety of donburi dishes, differing in their toppings.
